CF Industries head: Terra merger off to "good start"

Less than a month after buying its Sioux City-based fertilizer manufacturing rival, CF Industries said today the intergration of the former Terra Industries into CF' operations is off to a "good start."

"Terra has excellent people throughout the organiztion," CF President and CEO Steve Wilson said in a conference call this morning. "The cultures of the two companies are highly compatible."

Wilson said the early stages of the merger have confirmed CF's major assumptions of the benefits of the deal, which creates the largest nitrogen-based fertilizer maker in North America and the second largest in the world.
