SAP Defies Weak Software Sector |

German enterprise software maker SAP AG has bucked the tough conditions in the software sector by posting operating profit and sales figures that beat analysts' cautious expectations, as some competitors struggle amid a weak economic climate.
SAP's positive figures come in the wake of profit warnings from others in the sector, notably India's Infosys Ltd. 500209.BY -8.15%and Informatica Corp., INFA +0.21%as technology companies struggle to get new orders amid persistent global economic uncertainties.
Swiss banking software company Temenos TEMN.EB -28.07%Group AG also warned on sales for the second quarter and the rest of the year late Wednesday, citing difficult near-term market conditions, sending its share price plummeting Thursday.
