Intel tries to expand market for chips |

Intel hopes its chips will be used inside not just personal computers - but in pocket-size Internet devices, portable video players and low-cost mobile PCs as well.
The Santa Clara chip maker's expansion into new markets and its search for growth took center stage Thursday as company executives explained their strategy for reviving flagging sales during an analysts' meeting in New York.
While revenue from these new markets will be relatively small this year, the path to new businesses could prove vital for a company that is seeking to reach beyond its core strategy of selling chips for laptops, computers and servers.
