Barnes & Noble Sees "A New Growth Story" |

Barnes & Noble Inc. (BKS) said it is starting to see the signs of a "new growth story" for the company.
"2009 was a year in which we set the stage for growth. We expect that 2010 will be a watershed year in Barnes & Noble's transformation from being a brick-and-mortar retailer to becoming a major e-commerce retailer," said Chief Executive Stephen Riggio on the company's quarterly conference call.
The book giant has continued to struggle with weak store traffic amid the recession and sales that have been hurt even more by a movement of shoppers toward online and discount booksellers.
